Student council elections have recently concluded, and the newly elected officers are preparing to take on their respective roles. One of the successful candidates is Ajahnnae Garbutt, who is now the Treasurer Elect of the student council at Stann Creek Ecumenical College. In a recent interview, Garbutt shared her unique perspective on leadership and her vision for the school.

 

When asked about what inspired her to run for the student council, Garbutt explained that she wanted to contribute to the decision-making process and help improve the school. Despite not having previous experience in the financial area, Garbutt expressed her willingness to listen to everyone's opinions and make decisions based on what is best for the school and the student body.

 

Garbutt's perspective on leadership, particularly her belief that a good leader should possess qualities of dictatorship, caught the interviewer's attention. Garbutt clarified that she didn't consider herself a dictator, but would embody this quality depending on the situation. She believes that a decisive and authoritative approach can make things easier, but she also values listening to others' opinions and making decisions that benefit everyone.

 

Garbutt also shared her thoughts on the current challenges the school faces, such as the lack of diverse extracurricular activities for students. As the Treasurer Elect of the council, Garbutt plans to address this issue by suggesting new activities that cater to the interests of all students.

 

As an honor roll student, Garbutt is confident in her ability to balance academic responsibilities with her duties on the council. She believes that being organized and managing her time efficiently will help her fulfill her responsibilities as the Treasurer Elect.

 

In her final statement, Garbutt appealed to her fellow students, asking them to trust her and continue to support her because she wants what is best for everyone and will listen to their opinions. Garbutt's unique perspective on leadership and dedication to making a positive impact on the school make her an interesting and promising member of the student council.
